Professor Curtis J. Bonk is a former CPA and corporate controller. Dr. Bonk received his master's and Ph.D. degrees in educational psychology from the University of Wisconsin in Madison Wisconsin. From 1989 to 1992, Professor Bonk served on the faculty of West Virginia University. The E-Learning Professor was later an associate professor in the Departments of Counseling and Educational Psychology as well as Instructional Systems Technology at IU. The professor of e-learning was also a core member of the Center for Research on e-Learning and Technology at IU and a Senior Consortium Research Fellow with the Army Research Institute.

E-Learning Professor Curtis Bonk received the Burton Gorman teaching award in 1999. Professor Bonk was the first recipient of IU's Wilbert Hites Mentoring Award in 2000. In May 2002, Professor Bonk was awarded a "Cyberstar" award from the Indiana Information Technology Association. This award recognizes an outstanding individual implementing or developing IT educational programs of post-secondary students in the state of Indiana. During the first few years of this century, professor Bonk has been a visiting scholar at universities in Finland, Canada, and Australia and developed very unique international conferencing exchanges and mentoring programs, including "The Intraplanetary Teacher Learning Exchange" (TITLE) and the "Teacher Institute for Curriculum Knowledge about the Integration of Technology" (TICKIT) (http://www.indiana.edu/~tickit). Professor Bonk's 1998 book with Lawrence Erlbaum, "Electronic Collaborators Learner-Centered Technologies for Literacy, Apprenticeship, and Discourse" was cited as a "Breakthrough Book" in Lingua Franca. Dr. Curt Bonk has presented his ideas at hundreds of state, national, and international conferences and workshops (e.g., Telecon, Training Director's Forum, Training, Online e-Learning, Ed Media, TeleLearning, AERA, Teaching in Higher Education, E-Learning Conference) and is in high demand as a conference keynote speaker.
